Tikkun Olam @ TBZ

The Tikkun Olam Steering Committee (TOSC) is a committed group of TBZ members that works to help find the path for TBZ members to put into action their desire for and commitment to social justice. Our Jewish tradition compels us to enact the injunction “tzedek tzedek tirdof.” Justice, justice we actively pursue.

We keep at the forefront of our work that in order to pursue and enact this Jewish imperative we must confront racial inequity and injustice inside and outside our community. We are committed to building a just and equitable world. TOSC works with the TBZ Board of Directors and rabbis to set priorities and direction.

TOSC works through “action groups” focused on issues such as:

• Climate change
• Defending democracy
• GBIO – Greater Boston Interfaith Organization
• Gun violence prevention
• Housing rights
• Immigration reform
• Racial justice

TOSC meets the first Monday of the month from 9:00 to 10:15. TBZ members are invited to come to these meetings and learn what TOSC is up to.
