High Holy Days Information: 2026/5787

We look forward to celebrating the High Holy Days with you!

High Holy Days at TBZ 5787 – All of the Details

At TBZ, our High Holiday preparations are underway, both spiritually and logistically, as we move into this sacred season. We do so with the awareness that we live in times of profound brokenness and uncertainty, as Jews and as Americans. And still, we gather to find strength in one another, to pray, to reflect, and to recommit ourselves to the work of healing, justice, and community. If you’re already thinking ahead to the High Holidays, you’ll find helpful information below.

Rosh Hashanah begins Friday evening, September 11
Yom Kippur begins Sunday evening, September 20

Our High Holiday services will be spiritually engaging, joyful, musical, and deeply meaningful. Planning is well underway, and more details will be coming soon. In the meantime, here are some important updates and opportunities to begin preparing.

Tickets Are Required

To ensure safety and effective planning, everyone attending services, whether in person or online, must have a ticket.

Are you a TBZ member? High Holiday tickets are included in your membership as follows:

  • One-adult membership = 1 ticket
  • Two-adult membership = 2 tickets
  • Children under 19 are included on their parent/guardian’s tickets
  • Adult children (age 20+) need their own ticket or membership

Not (yet) a TBZ member? Or a member who needs additional tickets? Tickets are available for purchase:

  • Immediate family of TBZ members: $136 (must be purchased by the TBZ member)
  • Guests of TBZ members: $200
  • Community (non-members): $360

Tickets can be purchased online for family of TBZ members, guests of TBZ members, and the broader community.

Tickets include full access to both in-person and online services. Everyone attending online only is still expected to have a ticket.

Our doors (physical and virtual) are open to all. If finances present a challenge, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Benjamin or Sarah (office@tbzbrookline.org – 617-566-8171). We are here to help.

Membership, Reservations, & Packets

If you are a TBZ member, to receive your tickets, your membership for 2026-2027 must be renewed and your account must be current or on a payment plan. If you haven’t yet renewed or have questions, now is the time! Please contact the office (office@tbzbrookline.org or 617-566-8171; Sarah or Benjamin can assist you).

  • High Holiday packets will begin to go out in August once membership is confirmed.
  • Zoom links will be sent closer to the holidays.

We will not assign seats or ask about early/late service attendance.

We kindly ask that you do not invite guests without confirming they have obtained a ticket first.

Making Room for Our Growing Community

Thanks to our congregation’s continued growth, we’re reimagining our use of space to accommodate all who wish to join us:

  • Classrooms Bet, Gimel, and Dalet (3rd floor) will be overflow prayer spaces connected to the main service (not hangout areas).
  • Classroom Alef will be a quiet space for those who need it and will host Nishmat Hayyim contemplative practices.
  • A nursing space will be available adjacent to the Community Room.
  • The Community Room and Meeting Room will host Camp Shana Tova, family services, and childcare.

On Yom Kippur, the davening team will lead from the bimah instead of the floor to allow for more seating at the front of the sanctuary. All arrangements comply with fire safety and security regulations.

As our community continues to grow, we will not have a community break fast following Ne’ilah. Instead, we will share a celebratory snack to break the fast as we exit the sanctuary together. This simple, communal moment will allow us to conclude Yom Kippur with sweetness and connection.

Yizkor Book Sign-Up

We invite you to honor the memory of your loved ones by including their names in the TBZ Yizkor Book, which will be used on Yom Kippur and throughout the year whenever Yizkor is recited.

Please submit names by August 17 to ensure inclusion. Names that were included in last year’s Yizkor Book do not need to be re-submitted. If you have any questions, contact the TBZ office.
