Our Sanctuary

Accessible by a lift, our Sanctuary is the heart of our 74 year old building where we sing, pray, reflect, and connect. Our pulpit is on the ground level so that all can approach the Torah. The chairs move so we can arrange and rearrange them as needed – we can gather in rows, in concentric circles, or with no chairs at all and dance (come to Ne’ila!). Three classrooms with speakers and windows overlook the sanctuary so people who want some space can still feel part of the services.

Our Faith Quilts, conceived and created by hand in 2005 by 36 shul members ranging in age from 8 to over 80, adorn our sanctuary and express our group and individual spiritual connections to Judaism. The two quilts, one red and one blue, each seven by fourteen feet in size, represent two sefirot – Gevurah (strength) and Hesed (kindness) – or Divine Emanations on the Kabbalistic tetragram. To learn about how our Faith Quilts were made, watch the video below.
