Dismantling Racism from the Inside Out (DRIO) – with Rabbi David Jaffe and Rav Tiferet

Kickoff event! Sunday, 2/12, 9am-4pm, lunch provided at Noon.
Open to everyone! This one-day event is an introduction to Dismantling Racism from the Inside Out, a course and community of practice that equips participants with daily concrete Jewish spiritual tools of Mussar to confront, subvert, and heal implicit and internalized racism within ourselves and others, supporting the collective organizing, advocacy and service-work efforts to dismantle racism systemically. Led by Rabbi David Jaffe and Rav Tiferet, participants will be introduced to the balance of care paradigm, as well as explore practical skills to support TBZ members in helping TBZ achieve the goals developed at the end of our community work with Dimensions.
This event is open to all TBZ members, lunch will be provided. Please register so we have a count for lunch. The event will be over well in time to get home for the Superbowl!

For those interested in deepening this work in an ongoing commitment we will do a Smaller group in this work Every two weeks, 8 times! Thursdays, (in person, with a possibility of hybrid but strong encouragement of in-person) 6:30-8:30pm. BYOD, feel free to come at 6pm and dine until 6:30 and we’ll start promptly at 6:30pm (3/2, 3/16, 3/30, 4/20, 5/4, 5/18, 6/1, 6/8). This is a strong commitment but one that we think is worth to advance our work in DEI at TBZ and in our personal lives.
