An introduction to Judaism for Christians

While many of us recognize that Judaism and Christianity share many points of interest, it is all too easy to differentiate between our embodied traditions. And although our particularities are what make us beautiful and unique, the trunk of our faiths is a common one, giving way to a multiplicity of branches, each blossoming with their own flowers and fruits.
As we enter into our seasons of redemption, you are invited to join a series of classes where we will explore classical Jewish texts concerned with suffering, sacrifice, redemption, and freedom, and how sentiments expressed in them may (or may not!) intersect with Christian texts of similar themes. We will consider how what our traditions say on these matters may help deepen our own religious identities and expand our spiritual practices as we make our way to the other side of a parted sea or to the mouth of an empty tomb, and beyond.
