TBZ Mitzvah Day with Family Table, Jan. 7th

Sunday, January 7, 2018

Jewish Family & Child Services' Family Table, the largest kosher food pantry in New England, provides healthy food on a monthly and emergency basis to individuals and families in need. Their mission is to alleviate hunger in a way that meets nutritional and spiritual needs.

TBZ members will gather at JF&CS for the TBZ Mitzvah Day. We will learn about Family Table's mission, tzedakah, and tikkun olam. We will then put the ideas into action, working together with children and adult to pack bags of food for families in need.

The TBZ Mitzvah Day is a great opportunity for people of all ages to learn about social justice from a Jewish perspective, and to help an organization that does amazing work. We will help people in the Boston area who are living with food insecurity, and renew our ongoing commitment to bringing justice to the world.

TBZ Mitzvah Day is open to all members. Registration is capped at 30 families, and photo identification for everyone 18 years of age and older who has not volunteered with Family Table in the last 15 months must be submitted by Dec. 20 in order to run CORI checks. No registrations will be accepted after Dec. 20.
