SUMMARY:Shabbat Zimrah/Kabbalat Shabbat with TBZ (in person and online)
DESCRIPTION:Shabbat Zimrah brings the mystical sounds of Arab Jewry to the 
 TBZ sanctuary. Co-led by artist-in-residence Yoni Battat on the oud\, this
  service utilizes traditional and original melodies to chant excerpts from
  Shir Hashirim and the psalms of Kabbalat Shabbat\, followed by Ma’ariv 
 (Reading Song of Songs is a Mizrahi Friday night tradition practiced year 
 round – not just on Shabbat Shira!).\n\nYoni Avi Battat is a multi-instr
 umentalist\, vocalist\, and composer\, playing violin\, viola\, and oud in
  collaborative and interdisciplinary projects that explore both Mizrahi an
 d Ashkenazi Jewish expression. Yoni’s music has been described as “an 
 education for the ear and the soul\,” inviting listeners to find healing
 \, meaning\, and joy in the experience of being human.\n\nCome bring each
