SUMMARY:Israel Palestine Affinity Group (online)
DESCRIPTION:Our April meeting will be held online\, and will feature a disc
ussion of 'Project Esther': a policy paper put out just before the Novembe
r 2024 election by the Heritage Foundation – and framed as aiming to eli
minate antisemitism by rooting out all activism for Palestinian human righ
ts\, including by Jews. Like Project 2025\, which the Heritage Foundation
also released around this time\, Project Esther has served as a blueprint
for many of the government's actions that we have seen play out since the
current administration took office – in this case\, targeting especially
free speech.\n\nThis topic is of interest to all who are concerned with t
hese issues\, and we will examine and discuss the document during the meet
ing. All are welcome – whether you've attended a prior meeting or not\,
and whether or not you have time to read Project Esther before the meeting
!\n\nTo register and receive the Zoom link and Project Esther PDF\, and/or
to send any questions to the organizers\, please email the TBZ office.\n\
 n\n\nWe are a lay-led group committed to holding a safe-enough\, brave-eno
ugh space in which we can explore the complexities of the situations in Pa
lestine and Israel. Although we share a range of opinions and perspectives
\, we converge around the reality of the historical and constant structura
l oppression of and violence perpetrated upon Palestinians by the state of
Israel and global Mideast interests. Our meetings\, roughly each month\,
sometimes online and sometimes in person at TBZ\, are programmed by workgr
oup members\, Hasia Diner\, Lotus Goldberg\, and Deborah Kalin\, and featu
re a variety of rich topics for discussion\, reflection\, and learning. We
invite you to join us\, whether you have attended before\, or would be co
ming for the first time. To be added to the informative IPAG email listser
v\, or to register for a meeting\, please contact info@tbzbrookline.org.
