SUMMARY:Finding Home (Hungary 1945) (in person and online)
DESCRIPTION:Finding Home (Hungary\, 1945) is the first novel to explore the
complex emotional\, moral and economic dynamics of Jewish concentration c
amp survivors trying to return to their hometown after the war\, from the
point of view of the returnees and the townspeople. It is a poignant tale
that describes the return of Eva Fleiss and five other Jews to Laszlo\, a
small town in Hungary. Each of the Jewish survivors experiences the town
and their return to it slightly differently. But what they share is an utt
er sense of being alone.\nThe evening will include performances by noted
Klezmer musicians Jason Ditzian (clarinet) and Bea Carlson (accordion) of
Myrtle Street Klezmer performing Hungarian music interspersed with excerpt
s from the book.\nDean Cycon is a local author\, lawyer\, human rights adv
ocate and social entrepreneur.\nJoin us in person or register here for t
 he Zoom link.\n
