Rachel Goldberg recently returned from Israel where she spent several days exploring East Jerusalem and the West Bank with the Encounter program. Encounter gives Jewish leaders from across the United States an opportunity to learn from Palestinian community members and activists about their lived experiences and diverse perspectives. Please join us for a TBZ talk where Rachel will debrief the trip and share knowledge and insights. She will discuss our interactions with people living in the areas she visited, their stories, and her own reflections.

Rachel Goldberg works at Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), the Jewish Federation of Greater Boston as a Senior Program Officer in the Strategic Israel Engagement department. In this capacity, Rachel coordinates an initiative called Boston Partners for Peace to promote and educate about Israelis and Palestinians working together on grassroots projects for mutual understanding, security, and peace. Previously, Rachel spent nine months in Israel where she interned at the Abraham Initiatives, an NGO that promotes shared society initiatives between Jewish and Arab Israelis, and advocates for equal opportunities for Israel’s minorities. She also studied at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. Before her time in Israel, Rachel served as the Director of Community Relations at the Consulate General of Israel to New England where she was responsible for coordinating activities and overall collaboration with minority and interfaith groups, as well as Jewish organizations and their relationship to Israel.
