Tikkun Olam Group
The Tikkun Olam Group (TOG) is a gathering place where Jewish tradition, text, and perspective translate into social justice actions directed at healing our world. We provide opportunities for TBZ members to work on issues such as poverty, housing, criminal justice, hunger, and other concerns in our larger community.
We join together with Jewish, interfaith, and other coalitions in the Boston area to work on the issues of the day. We are active members of the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization. In May 2015, the Tikkun Olam Group joined a coalition of 1800 participants to meet with key state political leaders and hold them accountable to work on social justice issues. In 2014-2015, we had a strong presence in the work that passed state bills for minimum wage and earned sick time, fair treatment of domestic workers, and issues of hunger. In the coming year we will continue to promote actions around specific social justice campaigns, and will inform our members of opportunities to volunteer as they arise.
Everyone is welcome to participate! We meet every 6-8 weeks at TBZ. For more information, please feel free to contact one of our Chairs, at email@example.com.
