WHO WE ARE // OUR JEWISH WORLD
Our Jewish Future

One of Reb Moshe’s spiritual mentors, Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, the founder of the Renewal approach to Judaism, often counsels the need for bold congregations to take the role of experimenters — or as he calls them, R & D (research and development) shuls. "Unless we do R&D," Reb Zalman counsels, "we will not be able to bring something up to date. It'll be stuck in that place of 'junior congregation'. . . ."

TBZ aspires to be an engine of research and development for our Jewish future. We are alert to and struggle with issues of continuity and change.
