At TBZ we provide a welcoming place for “Jews by choice” as well as for individuals who are interested in converting to Judaism. TBZ follows the Conservative movement guidelines so that individuals who convert will be welcome as Jews in synagogues beyond TBZ. Conservative movement guidelines state that individuals who are interested in converting are required to belong to a shul and have a sponsoring rabbi. Reb Moshe has worked with dozens of converts to Judaism, and our TBZ community includes many enthusiastic “Jews by choice” whose commitment contributes to our understanding of what it means to be a Jewish person.
