Adult B’nei Mitzvah

Adult B’nei Mitzvah are wonderful affairs that provide people with an opportunity to reaffirm their engagement with Judaism. As part of this reaffirmation, the shul encourages the adult B’nei Mitzvah and their family to:

The shul asks the adult b’nei mitzvah to support our community efforts to ensure a meaningful bb’neimitzvah experience, by contributing to the shul’s finances. Please discuss all b’nei mitzvah arrangements with Reb Moshe, Rav Claudia and the office.

Because of the centrality of learning to the b’nei mitzvah experience, all of our b’nei mitzvot are encouraged to develop and meet minimum learning requirements in order to complete the b’nei mitzvah process at our shul. Generally, we encourage our adult b’nei mitzvah candidates to enroll in Me’ah or another similar program.

In addition, the shul encourages individuals to find a private tutor to help learn Hebrew, and Torah and Haftorah trope. b’nei mitzvot who have not yet had training can celebrate their growing commitment to Judaism with b’nei mitzvah services on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning Rosh Hodesh service.
