Selling of Hametz

The undersigned appoint Rabbi Moshe Waldoks or Rabbi Claudia Kreiman to serve as my/our agent in the selling of hametz in our possession.

I/We understand that I/we must segregate and mark the areas where this hametz is found. This hametz will not be in my/our possession from the period of 10 am, Friday, April 6, 2012 until sundown, Saturday, April 14, 2012.

I/We will not be permitted access and utility from thishametz during the aforementioned period and the buyers will have rights of access to the hametz during this period.

Please sign this document and append your address and location of the aforementioned hametz and return it to the office no later than Friday, April 15, 2011 at 12 noon.

[Selling hametz refers to the creation of a "legal" way to prevent extreme financial hardship in observing the Passover regulations. Thus, it is permissible to "sell" large stocks of expensive liquors, cooking utensils, and other "hametzdik" items to carry out the mitzvah of ridding our homes of any kind of hametz. This "selling" does not include explicit hametz i.e. foodstuffs, perishable or not. This is a wonderful opportunity to donate closed boxes and cans to a food shelter. This contract does not free one from the necessity of "koshering" one's home for Pesach.]
