Family Table
Jewish Family & Children’s Service Family Table, Greater Boston’s Jewish Food Pantry, was established in 1993 as a communal response to Jewish families who cannot afford life’s basic necessities. Currently Family Table is serving 150 households. Many of the recipients are victims of domestic violence, have chronic physical and mental health issues, or are elderly immigrants living on very limited resources. Family Table is affiliated with the following organizations: the Greater Boston Food Bank and the Jewish Family & Children’s Service in collaboration with Synagogue Council of Massachusetts, Jewish Community Relations Council of Massachusetts and Hillel of New England.
Family Table is now located at Jewish Family & Children’s Service, 1430 Main Street, Waltham, Ma. Members and students of 45 generous synagogues, day schools, and Jewish Community Centers — including TBZ — donate the majority of the food.
You can contribute to Family Table by:
- Donating cans of meatless soups and pasta sauce. The collection bin is in the downstairs foyer at Temple Beth Zion.
- Sending a monetary contribution to Family Table in Waltham.
- Volunteering on food distribution days, which are one Sunday every month.
